Hi Sergei,

Happy New Year and many thanks!

FYI the x64 version say 1.41

I assume the SSE3 version is the fastest if the chip allows.

Thanks again,

Steve

I am confused, I thought every 64-bit chip has SSE3.

On my Q6600 CPU machine the SSE3 compile is a bit slower.

Thanks, Sergei -- it's great that you are again developing SmarThink.

I've run a quick test and I noticed that Nalimov TB access slows down the engine's search by a 'ginormous' factor of 300x (!), causing ST to blunder badly, where it would otherwise find the correct move quite easily without TBs.

I've now switched off Nalimov in the .ini file... Better off without it, from what I can see.

Regards,
CL

Thank you Sergei.
How much stronger is this version than 1.40?
