Nirvanachess 1.2 Release

Post by cetormenter » Thu Aug 22, 2013 5:58 pm

With school coming up soon I will not be able to work on my engine as much as I have been. This time around significant progress has been made with the engine gaining over 200 elo to it predecessor at hyper time controls.

From a sample tournament with TC 15" + 0.05"

Code: Select all

 1. Nirvanachess 1.2Test 2883.5/3675	2513-421-741 (L: m=9 t=0 i=0 a=412)	(D: r=552 i=73 f=59 s=4 a=53)	(tpm=200.9 d=11.49 nps=864365)
 2. Nirvanachess 1.1 791.5/3675	421-2513-741 (L: m=128 t=0 i=0 a=2385)	(D: r=552 i=73 f=59 s=4 a=53)	(tpm=203.9 d=9.72 nps=837442)

Rank Name Elo + - games score oppo. draws
   1 Nirvanachess 1.2Test 110 11 11 3675 78% -110 20%
   2 Nirvanachess 1.1 -110 11 11 3675 22% 110 20%
The engine can be downloaded at:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/pvwst ... ss_1.2.rar

Inside are 3 different complies.
Nirvanachess 1.2.exe: A 64-bit binary compiled with the intel complier
Nirvanachess 1.2 (32-Bit).exe: A 32-bit binary compiled with the intel complier
Nirvanachess 1.2 (MVSC++).exe: A 64-bit binary compiled with MVSC++ in case the intel compile does not work

Yes. It is amazing what a tiny bit endgame knowledge can do. Around half of this gain was from adding 4-5 different endgame evaluations. Each was worth about 20-30 elo. Hopefully now the game won't be lost once the endgame is reached.

P.S. I just noticed there is a typo in the title. Is there anyway to fix that?

Great news! Thanks for the update. I'll make sure to update the version I'm testing.

Sorry you've had trouble getting your engine to play on OICS.
