Anyone have any ideas???
Shrapnel
Dredd
Duster
Mogh
Phoenix
Sudini
Drape

Let me know if you need some more!
Phoenix is overused, Sudini is an obvious modification of Houdini, and Drape is too close to GrapeFruit. Thanks for your contributions!
If we are going along a mythological creature route, why not Chimera? The code base has 3 heads (searches - Root, Alpha-Beta, Quiescence), and breathes Fire.

I believe in the almighty printf statement.

Arbalest is nice, along the Crossbow line.

From a different area, how about Cromwell? (Much better than Protector, I dare say.)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Cromwell
Not sure about arbalest, it's definitely better than crossbow, though.

Cromwell is trademarked.

Not sure if I'm getting this straight, but a trademarked name cannot be used, even if it's in a different field (other than the trademarked product), and even if it's a free engine ? Can any legal experts weigh in on this ?

There's also this: http://editthis.info/jalassociatecomics/Cromwell_Chess. I don't know if this is a problem.

There Houdini sotware or Komodo IDE
I mention these because they are commercial,

I suppose that the restriction is in the names of Engines,
a name that I liked is apache, until I found that has an engine HGMulller with that name.

Matthew

Maybe 'Roach' named after The Roaches In the Peak District where you come from and where I rock climbed quite a lot when I was younger.

I like Blaze too. It is short and has panache.
