Compile request - GarboChess 3

Post by tmokonen » Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:19 pm

I see that the source for version 3 of this program has been available since February at https://github.com/glinscott/Garbochess-3/ , but no one has made a compile for it yet. If a compiling wizard can make a fast compile of this program, it would be much appreciated.

It would make a lot of us happy. I wasn't even aware that the GarboChess 3 source code had been released.

I compiled without any problems. You just need to download Visual Studio Express from Micrsoft and click the Build button.

My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

It's not really ready for release, and I don't think it ever will be. I uploaded the source in case I wanted to work on it later from another computer. Or for others to look at, but there isn't much of interest in there.

Hi Gary,

I suspect that most of us don't trawl around the various engine pages unless a release is announced by somebody.
I'm sure that many would certainly be interested in another official release. Fingers crossed that you'll do this.

Cheers,
Graham.

Didn't mean too sound so grumpy in the last post :).

People are welcome to play around with the engine if they like of course. But I haven't taken the time to rigorously test it in GUIs, different hash sizes, etc.

I lost interest in developing the engine a while back, as you can see from the commit history in github.
