Arasan 11.4

Post by jdart » Sat Jun 20, 2009 6:23 pm

Arasan 11.4 is available from http://www.arasanchess.org.

Changes in Arasan 11.4:
1) Fix to KBP draw code.
2) Fix Winboard/xboard driver to send "O-O" not "o-o" for castling.
3) Fix time calculation in tournament mode.
4) Scoring changes, fixes for Rook mobility & rooks on open files.
5) Scoring change in king safety: don't count Bishops more highly
than Knights in evaluating king attacks.
6) The usual book fixes/additions.

I have also updated the Arasan test suite with 15 additional positions. Details at http://www.arasanchess.org/testsuite.shtml.

Many thanks, Jon. Let me add, I appreciate particularly your non-fading enthusiasm in developing your engine. Arasan is now one of the all-time greats.

I strongly second that....Arasan is indeed a living legend and it's getting much stronger with every release....

The way the multi-threading is implemented some threads will occasionally be idle. But I typically see over 350% CPU on a 4 core machine.

Increasing this is on the to-do list.

Thanks Jon.
I got kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bible's to the fiction section.
