It seems that ChessV is an open-source (Chess-variant) engine, but that an unfortunate quarrel and ensuing legal action now precludes its hosting on the web anywhere.
Is there still anyone that has a private copy of those sources, and would be willing to mail it to me? I would like to see if I can adapt it for playing under WinBoard_F.

Have visited Mel winther's site? It's another interesting chess variant page.

Re: Sources of ChessV?
OK, Thanks everyone that reacted. I've got it now!

It is written in C++, (which I don't really know), but the code itself seems only very little differnt from plain C. I will see what I can do with it. (But only after I converted Joker to 10x8 play.)
