BugChess2 1.5.2 is out !

Post by FrancoisK » Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:14 am

Hi all :)

This version seems to be an improvement over 1.5.1 in blitz at least.
As usual it can be found on Leo's site : http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/html/download.htm

Thanks to all testers :D

François

PS: new users, do not forget the "-winboard" parameter to use it in a winboard UI (winboard/Arena/...)

Thanks Francois - I'm looking forward to testing this new version, especially after the significant gains you made last time! 8-)

Thanks Graham :D
Do not expect a big jump (or i would have called it 1.6  ).
In blitz the gain should be around 30 elos. Hope next one will be 1.6
Looking forward to seeing it play for the CCRL !

Cheers

François

Hi Francois,

Do you plan to make hash size adjustable? Of course I could easily accept if you said that it would not have much influence on playing strength.

BTW, here 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 scored the same 65 out of 177 on the Arasan6 test suite (10 secs/position, P4 3GHz).

It is already there since long in my private versions, i just have to take time making the parameter understandable by humans :) . And as you say, the elo gain is probably very small.

Thanks for the test :) I am not surprised that 1.5.2 scored the same as the main improvement of 1.5.2 is a better time control management in games.

François
