Not too long after 3.0 was released there was an important false mate fix upstream, which has now been merged.

Why is Bluefish-FD-XI with 181/213 not included in the calculation?

Crystal 3.1 takes no prisoners (doing some O. Blathy hard ones):
OK, total miss. Right move, but where is the checkmate (Sting found it in 5 minutes):

Cannot wait to see how the rest turn out.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I guess he looked at the thread count and saw something nefarious.
If I ask for 1 thread and 4 threads are pounding like mad, then something is up.

Nice progress with 3.1 and default net! What is "Clean Search" meaning?

It's more the fact that Bluefish-FD-XI is very weak compare to other engines : http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... 56#p844056
I don't want to promote it.

Why do we care how strong a tactical solver is for playing games?
I do not know for sure that Bluefish uses too many threads, but I do know it uses multi-pv under the covers (which is OK in my opinion).

To me, if a program has 6 Elo compared to the latest SF at 3800 and it can solve all of Blathy's problems it is still the greatest solver of all time.
That program has not been invented yet, but I hope that it does get invented

Chest does not even play chess. But it is a great chess solver for checkmate problems of 12 plies or less.
Same for ChestUCI for deeper problems (yes, Chest can do it too, but it is too complicated to set up, so thanks for writing ChestUCI)

Fully agree Dann. There should be warning in Crystal page: NOT FOR PLAYING!
