Crystal 3.1

Post by jhellis3 »

Release highlights:

Not too long after 3.0 was released there was an important false mate fix upstream, which has now been merged.
Small performance improvement.
Slightly better tactical awareness.
Small progress scoring improvement.
Numerous upstream patches to Stockfish.

There are still a few things I am working on where I think meaningful progress can be made, but the above changes were important enough I felt should go ahead and release as 3.1.

Thanks. But Have You done tests if NNUE is any benefit in tactics or mate solving? I doubt it strongly.

Thank you for this release.
Crystal is a must have tool for test position analysis
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Yes, but no binaries so far, source code is of no use to me. :(

I built it in various formats for Windows and put on my CDN. Hope it works well for you.

You're very welcome. I'm planning to pick up a Mac Mini m1 to use for development, so hopefully I can offer OS X builds in the future as well.
