Komodo and Stockfish

Post by Krzysztof Grzelak »

I have a question. Why in both chess engines, those mentioned in the title. There are no tablebases - Nalimov.

Eugene Nalimov has been a hard man to reach for permission to use Nalimov Tablebases. The license required to use Syzygy is less restrictive.

Because Nalimov tablebases are relict of the past that is not much useful today.

Because Nalimov tablebases are relict of the past that is not much useful today. I believe that Nalimov are better than syzygy. Because Nalimov will immediately checkmate for me - and show me how many moves.
