Which window manager do you use, and how exactly it doesn't work?
Arena is known not to be able to start in tiling window managers (e.g. i3wm).

Hello Crem

i use a Debian 10 Derivate called SolydX 10, it has a XFCE-Desktop.
May be Debian 10 did nt support some library Debian 9 did.
I am not a hardcore linuxer - but even by root console Arena GUI did nt start.
As told under Solydx 9 it run smooth by only one click on the program file.
Any help is appreciated. Of course i send a mail to Martin Blume about this issue,
but get no reply.

Best Gerhard

I have used Arena 1.1 in MX Linux 19 on pen drive. The scores are reported wrongly when an xboard engine plays as white. I am happy to see this problem fixed in Arena 3.9 beta.

Runs fine with Mint 19.3 (Debian 64 bit). Issues:
- nps count shows missing character in between thousands sign
- belofte is a wb2 engine (ini file)

Some engines not working:
- Neg, Neophyte

Enhancements: Arena sends following commands to engine, while there is no reason to do so with WB2 and not requested by the engine.
option Hash=64
option Ponder=false

Maybe this is a bug about tournament.
I have a set of 12 EPD positions, each engine must play with white and black so this makes 24 games.
The problem is that after playing 2 games with the first position, it never goes to the next position, whatever the settings are.

sorry I was wrong, Martin answered - but his mail was stored in a spam-folder, I recognize it today the first time.
He is on a hard way to solve this silly issue with Arena Gui 4 Linux and Debian 10.
He is a real nice man.

Thank you Martin !

Thanks for mentioning this, I'm switching to it from ScidvsPC. If I can adjudicate using 6pc tbs even better.

He gives his email address in a cryptic way. I tried several addresses without success. blume@arena.de, martin.blume@arena.de etc. Each time I get a "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender". Can you give the correct address because I want to report a bug.
Thanks.
