somewhere around here Rybka lost the game i believe :
[d]7k/3R4/3p4/rp1B3p/8/6P1/1b3P1P/6K1 b - - 1 38
momentarily id say that 38...Ba3?! was probably the culprit that lost the game finally !??
can we find out where Rybka finally lost the game nowadays?... is 38...h4!? (38...b4!? looks like beeing a tranposition to me) loosing as well ?...and is 38...Ba3?! loosing ?

Looks like it was Stockfish playing White, except on move 13 SF probably played Be3 and he "heard" Re3.

:-)...yes!...beyond the discussion about cheating though its relly interesting to find the "point of no return", thx Larry for your response, i wish you both(3) all the best with Komodo...a great engine !...to get to a more puzzeling question ( ...for me myself momentarily without sufficiant access to maybe relevant 7-men TB's) though, id like to ask this:
[d]5k2/8/4B3/8/1R3PK1/2b1r1P1/8/8 w - - 1 36
is this senseless to analyze for a win ?...an interpretation from you,Larry, (one of the most qualified posters ive ever met) would make me very proud btw!

A quick playout with Komodo led to a win. It's probably impossible to prove that it's a win, but it looks and feels like a win and that's the way I would bet.
This episode is another argument in favor of FRC (960). Of course it's just as easy to cheat in FRC as in normal chess, but since there are (so far anyway) no databases and no theory a cheater would be cheating right from the start, and couldn't claim credibly that he was find the first 20 moves just by his memory of theory. Cheat detection is much easier with FRC.

currently i tend to withdraw my conclusion of 38...Ba3?! as being decisive already...tired now of analysing and going to sleep...as it seems move 39 or 40 is more promising in terms of make such claims...sry for that if true, good night and cya friends.

im almost sure that 39...Bc5 is a loosing move now...and 38...Ba3 is probably still holding...at least i couldnt find a win although i tried as hard as i could...i was going through the lines about 12-15 hours finally.
