TR 3

Post by Dann Corbit »

Still largely speculation, but I guess not too far off except for price.
https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-threadri ... confirmed/
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-names-2 ... pper-3960x

For instance, wccftech guesses $1299 for the 32 core TR gen 3, but it is a lot faster than the current gen 2 version which goes for $1799 so I guess the 32 core will be at least that.

I guess the 64 core part will be $3900

If they are right about the prices, that will be a happy day.

Maybe you should consider using a "real" chess engine! :D :D :D

There's no harm in running an Nvidia GPU on an AMD M/B & CPU?

What has suddenly changed here with regard to lc0?

With all those memory channels, I was thinking of putting in 4 of these in it:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/gr ... 080-super/
Of course, just those four cards will pull a full kilowatt. So a big power supply is a must.
Not to mention, I will eventually want a couple hundred TB of disk.

The power company is already sending me notices and graphs showing me what a power hog I am.
Look! You're using twice as much electricity as your neighbors! Would you like us to help you learn how to conserve energy?

Ignore the troll, AMD CPUs run LcZ perfectly fine.

tell them it's for some scientific distributed computing project. Don't tell them it's for chess otherwise they will cut the power for useless waste of electricty :D
