Playing bad? Lc0 won the game with Lc0's epic trolling endgame play. Promoting to a rook, sacing the bishop. Sweet.

Why is it doing that when it has tablebases?
Tablebases years ago made normal engines do weird things, but not like this.

It certainly would not play like this even if it had only 3-men EGT (as KRK would be amongst those). This is just what you get if you train the engine to recognize a certain win, but do not train it how to make progress in cashing it. It is equally happy with any KRK position, they are all 100% certain wins. So the pieces just diffuse aimlessly over the board.

CCC claim they use 7-man Syzygy TBs.
Wonder if there's some error somewhere.

That CCC uses 7-men EGT doesn't mean that this particular engine supports uses EGT. Obviously CCC was not using the EGT to adjudicate.

The sad truth is that there are just way too many games like that with Lc0 and while in this case the end result was still a win for Lc0 … on many occasions there is a draw or even a loss, in what was a winning position. It is behaviour like this that makes Lc0 useless as a stand alone chess engine to analyse with. This needs to be fixed pronto!
