They said a fiber optic cable was severed. Glad we are back up and running.

Amen Brother...thank God talkchess is back! Called the phone# this morning and a gentleman told me bridge construction
had cut the optical network cable and it had been out since weds..Immortalchess net is also down (how long?) so with both talkchess and immortal chess down...you quickly run low on your chess forum options!!

Ditto here - just two days and it started to feel like a part me of had died - it was weird! Plus I was getting really weird messages from macOS Safari was providing me some severe alerts that led me to believe that perhaps the site was perhaps hacked - until I saw somebody's note that the Fiber Optic was cut. Glad all is well.
