Speculation over the R3K series is even more wild and wooly than usual for a new CPU lineup. This fellow has some interesting information, leaks, analysis, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReYUJXHqESk

Interesting accent - Scottish (YouTube guy)?

I don't know if I believe most of what I hear, but it does appear that Intel will not have 10nm in production before 2020. If AMD can start shipping 7nm, it will kick Intel where it hurts, even more than the 2000 series is doing.

Supposedly, you can pair the 3990wx
So 128 cores, 256 threads.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Would be very interesting to run LC0 on CPU with 64 or 128 cores.
3250 elo?

I am guessing that 3 high end GPUs would be much stronger than the 128 standard CPU cores for LC0, running 256 threads.
LC0 runs on math... Absurdly, mind-bendingly, over-the-top math. With the special matrix operations (which are just what the doctor ordered for AI) they can do math that would make Gauss delirious. Now, 256 threads is a lot of compute power. But standard CPU cores can't do math like a GPU.

What if it can run both on CPU and on GPU! I feel LC0 really has a lot of low bearing fruits by simply adjusting how it uses available hardware. Imagine a 128 core setup plus 3 x Titan RTX cards all being utilized to generate the best possible move!
