Hello,
cf. all 60 games here: https://github.com/elcabesa/vajolet/issues/23 - it concerns the current engine versions of Arasan - Pedone - Vajolet - Xiphos

Hi Norman,
can you explain a little more about those timeout? in the tournament you have done 30% of games have been time forfeits. Can you explain a little what is your setup, if you had problem in the past with the same engines?

we can't understand too much if you don't explain anything

Of course it has nothing to do with the programs, it is your setup.
I just looked into the first debug output and it reveals that you always used 4 threads/cores for all engines.

If I assume you just have a quadcore you already have the faulty setup.
While it is true that you used ponder off, you did not care about the OS,the GUI and probably other processes
running on your machine.
The usual thumb of rule is to leave one thread/core for other tasks and the OS.

Try to run the same thing with 2 threads per engine and report again ;-)

BTW for the future it would be much better and helpful to immediately report exactly
what you did and what your setup was, otherwise no one will take those 'bug' reports
seriously anymore.

And of course you should not open an 'issue' at a random github account just because
you had no idea what happened.

Hopefully this doesn't sound too rude, but actually all I said should be common sense
at least for someone being here for so long.

Guenther

Edit:
Moreover you should try to ask first an expert before filing an issue, which in case of ChessGUI
clearly would be Graham (are there others?)

We of english-speaking Ambazonia (former British Southern Cameroons) are being systematically wiped out by neighbouring french-speaking La Republique du Cameroun, who are maiming, raping, killing, looting, burning.
So I cannot look at chess issues since 2 years.

My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Try setting the time overstep margin to 5000 milliseconds (maximum) and see whether or not that helps.

I am sorry to hear this. Actually I had no idea of what's going on there.
Now after I have informed myself, I hope things might change to the better
side for Amabazonia and it might be achknowledged by the UN in the long run,
if not by the major part of CMR.
At least it seems media and world politics have finally turned an eye on the current
fatal situation in Ambazonia, but from what I read there is probably no change
to expect, as long as the very old 'president' Biya reigns.
