Thank you, Andreas, I'll follow your recommendation.
The odd thing is I'd run thousands of games with previous versions, starting with v0.210, at default settings and never had a forfeit.
I have just replaced Rodent download files. The only change is that all the changes to time control code are now switched off by default (but can be activated by the UCI option). I will try to implement some safeguards later, probably next week, as right now I am playing (badly) in the 2nd division of Polish Team Championships.
The Default personality file is default.txt. In the download the file rodent.txt ist delivered.
Both files cannot be read by a Editor, as they are no txt files. The other personality files I can read with an Editor.
I configured Rodent for testing using this rodent.txt file - and I hope Rodent can read it. Otherwise this may be the reason I have not so good results here.
Which personality file should we use for testing?
Please run Rodent with no personality files (don't supply any existing file and please delete rodent.txt, as it will force the engine to play with the old set of parameters). The engine will fall back on the internal default.

I have already played 386 games with rodent.txt in the Rodent folder.
How much do you think it hurt its performance?
I have played 500 games already and I think it will not hurt the engine, as it cannot read rodent.txt.
Also I run the bench command with rodent.txt in the Folder and without. I saw no differences in the pvs.
And the engine has in it uci Parameters set Default.txt not rodent.txt.
I hope this is correct.

If You did not force Rodent to use rodent.txt, then there was no harm. Werner wrote that he actually made some effort in order to use weights from rodent.txt. So, please keep the games.
There were 14 time losses out of 238 games after raising the TimeBuffer value to 100. Using today's fixed version there are no time losses after 79 games.
Thank you, Pawel, and better luck in the Championship!
