1) This version is UCI only. To simplify my engine I dropped support for CECP.
2) The KQKR and KBNK endgame tables are replaced by one 4-man EGT that can generate both.
They are generated during Galjoen's thinking time and no extra thread is used.
The endgame tables reside in the main hash table and thus, don't use extra memory anymore.
3) All the weights in the evaluation are split into middlegame weights and endgame weights.
4) Estimated strength: 2450 CCRL404.

Thanks! I am looking forward too, because in my own tests I found very different results against different opponents.Gabor Szots wrote: ↑Sat Aug 04, 2018 10:06 am Gauntlet in progress against 20 opponents. I am looking forward to the result.

Hi Werner,
thanks for the new version!
My users often comment your engine for playing too quick (i guess y reduce the time to create weak play) => uci level
If y reduce the strength its better to wait for something (=do nothing) as play quicker(=no use the time y have) Just speaking about user experience only.
Thanks for consideration.
Jürgen

Version 0.39.1 moves slower in limitstrength mode.

Re: Galjoen 0.39 released
Galjoen moves pretty much instantly every move, so I've pulled it from my testing for now.

I used it as a UCI engine and it seemed OK.Graham Banks wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 8:23 am Galjoen moves pretty much instantly every move, so I've pulled it from my testing for now.

I'm also using it as a uci engine (under ChessGUI).Gabor Szots wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 8:46 amI used it as a UCI engine and it seemed OK.Graham Banks wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 8:23 am Galjoen moves pretty much instantly every move, so I've pulled it from my testing for now.
I can't recall having this issue with the previous version.

Re: Galjoen 0.39 released
Galjoen on lower levels has always moved too quickly on PicoChess.
However the latest version 0.39.1 has fixed this issue for us.
