Re: The Baron - Latest Version Released
Dear Steve,
Could you kindly ask Richard to provide a 32-bit version? I believe that if he has compiled one, he would gladly do it.
While I can use The Baron 64-bit, under Windows, I'd prefer to stay in my old linux OS and use it under Wine. Unfortunately, it's a system I kept upgrading (Ubuntu), and it remained 32-bit.
Then, I hope that Richard won't change his approach: a lot of us do like knowledge based engines.
A big thank you to both of you for this gift!

Re: The Baron - Latest Version Released
I was not sure whether the 32-bits version was still used so I did not compile one at the time. I will provide one probably later this week (probably coming weekend).

The delivered ini file starts Baron with 2GB hash, which might make your
windows sluggish, if you don't have > 4GB installed.
In this case first lower the hash entry in the ini file.

I'm wondering why the author didn't just support the CECP command "memory".Guenther wrote:The delivered ini file starts Baron with 2GB hash

Note that I forgot to tell that I just started from console!Ras wrote:I'm wondering why the author didn't just support the CECP command "memory".Guenther wrote:The delivered ini file starts Baron with 2GB hash
I haven't tried from a GUI yet, thus I don't know if it listens to the memory
command and if that has priority over the ini value.
