I checked with Chessbase and they did release the right version (whew!). The screen shot was in the German online manual, and was a screenshot of a development version we sent them for testing. They wrote back "It is just a screenshot from our german website. We removed it. For packages and documentation I had to create some screenshots some time ago and neither realized nor expected additional engine options."

So sorry, these nscale...qscale options are not present in the Chessbase release.

We will still consider looking at some special release with more knobs. Perhaps some of you could figure out better settings than us.

you mean Stockfish team has found?

It would be nice if we could just put new SF ideas into Komodo and gain elo points, and I admit we do often try them, but they rarely work in Komodo. The differences between the two are too great. Just the fact that Stockfish got rid of half-plies while Komodo did not means that ideas optimized for Stockfish search are usually not optimal for Komodo. It seems to us that Stockfish has been adopting our ideas in the last couple years more than the other way around, perhaps coincidentally. For example, we were using a version of "Lazy SMP" long before Stockfish did, and I think SF switched after losing to us in TCEC. There are many other such instances.

I feel that if Komodo was again above the very strongest besides itself, and was using its own style and strengths, then it would produce the most beautiful games in history. But it has to keep its own hallmarks and not merge into something else.

Larry already announce that anyone with a subscription up to the date Chessbase released Komodo 11 will get Komodo 11.01 from us for free. We also normally give updates for free to anyone who has recently bought Komodo. So you are covered. Also, the Komodo 11.01 version will be stronger than the initial Chessbase Komodo 11 version. So you will get the best we have to offer once it is released. We try to be nice to our customers. We are getting Komodo 11.01 to Chessbase today. I am hoping they offer it as an update to their customers.

I am sorry for the delay, but my Mom had a stroke and broke her leg and my father's blood sugar required hospitalization, and I had to help them out. We prefer to release Komodo close to when Chessbase does, but I was simply not home and able to do everything we need to do.

Komodo comes a distant second to these kinds of emergencies, so a delay of one day is nothing. I hope your parents are recovering well.
