For more than two years I try in vain to compile stockfish i386...
Never worked in less than Pentium II...
Yesterday, after 8 continuous hours, I succeeded!!!
Only works with Stockfish 6....
Tested in :
80486 DX 33Mhz (1000Nps after 3 min...starting with 500nps) (Arena is unusable/ slow in this CPU) .Only can use on Command line with parameter go infinite) External cache 256kb COMP=i386
AMD 5x86 133Mhz (An Fast 486) 1400nps/2000nps External cache 256kb COMP=i386
Intel Pentium I 75Mhz 6200nps/7400nps External cache 256kb COMP=i586 (Command bench=7465nps)
The i586 optimization is really fast comparated with i386.
If the moderators allow me, I upload the binary compiled files of i386 i486 & i586[/img]

z80 and 6502 are next.

But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I'm not a moderator but if you include the source you used there should be no problem.hammerklavier wrote:If the moderators allow me, I upload the binary compiled files of i386 i486 & i586[/img]
Deasil is the right way to go.

I like to have numbers running this old computers.
What about memory and hashtables ?

I have posted some old builds before, but here is a temporary link to them:hammerklavier wrote:For more than two years I try in vain to compile stockfish i386...

My experience is similar. After Stockfish 6, the move to std=c++11 made compiling impossible on old toolchains.
Anyway, some of these might work. There is a text file that gives some idea of build options and OS requirements. It is possible that none of these work. I don't remember the command line I used, but if -msse was there then yeah, it will require a Pentium II.
