Just in case it gets lost in the other thread... I've updated EXchess. With everyone's help I finally found the issue with reading search.par in those cases where THREADS did not equal 1 in search.par. I think I've fixed it now, and a new version, v7.97 is now at...

I had the crash with 2 threads under Arena 3.5 with Exchess 7.96.
Now, with the version 7.97 beta, all is ok so far, with 2 threads
