In this tournament Houdini's performance is poor. Maybe Ponder On tournaments isn't suitable for Houdini.

Houdini 5 will release in October 2016

Robert Houdart said "We will continue to develop Houdini up to the final release of Houdini 5 in October, qualifying for the TCEC final would be a nice (albeit rather distracting :) ) bonus for an engine that is still very much in development."

"In the games I’ve seen Houdini has been playing very well in the opening and early middle game, but then sometimes failed to convert its advantage in the late middle game. We’ll definitely try to improve that aspect."

Who is the other people? Richard Vida or someone else

Even though it's not correct English, sometimes people use the word 'we'll' referring to themselves.

Or he simply considers testers as part of the team.

That sounds more likely.

Nice to see Shredder back in the game! It wasn't really that long ago when Shredder would shred all comers (has it been that long !!!!). With Houdini also in the mix and a lot of newcomers ... maybe the new Fritz (which seems to be running a new Rybka) ... a new exciting age for computer chess engines ??

I think we will see strong chess engines like Stockfish 8, Komodo 10.2, Houdini 5, Shredder (13/Nova), Fire 5, Deep Fritz 16 , Hiarcs 15, Crafty 25.1 etc. within the next 2 months. It's really very exciting
