What are your favorite chess engine names?

Post by supersharp77 »

A topic that has always interested me.....naming of chess engines as I must admit to sometimes using chess engines in tournaments and match play that have "cool sounding names"....sometimes I wonder how some of the authors come up with these names...it surely must take a bit of time and requires a good imagination! Now some of my favorite names for chess engines: Crafty....Gandalf....Merlin.....Kings Out....Houdini (magic)
....Fritz (why I do not know)....Komodo... (I like dragons)
...AtlanChess...BlackMamba....TheKing...Hydra.....MangoPaola.....
MishasMauler....RybkaKiller......MrChess....OctoChess(Cool)...ProDeo(don't know exactly what it means but it sounds good)..Nagaskaki... Purplehaze....Jukebox Develop..RobboExplorer....Rocket...Shredder...Deep Blue....Silke Chess....Sinapse....Sting SF.....ANT...Thinker...Chess Genius....Twisted Logic....to name a few.....what are your favorite engine names? Let us know! Thx AR :)

AN(ANgel)MON(deMON).
Half angel half demon ...

That is the best idea from all I know, and I know a lot.
Christian BARRETEAU must be itself a wizard and a very very friendly programmer with so many nice ideas.

Cool is Patzer (blunder I think in English) or DisasterArea ... nice for chess engines. OK, a lot of nice names, but AnMon is fantastic in my opinion!

Best
