I noticed that this newfangled forum for TalkChess is ten years old now - it was opened up back in March 2006. Time flies! :D

Actually this forum is over twenty years old, the 2006 date was just when just when the new forum software was installed.

Sean Mintz archive many of the posts from 1997 on.

Originally everyone was posting on r.g.c.c, but that was soon take over by spammers, hence the move to a moderated forum.

Tecnhically - that is a listing of the oldest posts saved. Not all the posts were saved. It's probably the majority of them.

I am pretty sure that is wrong. I remember checking and my first post in CCC was in 1996.

I am living proof that chess does not prevent Alzheimer's. I stand corrected and admit I checked and found it was in RGCC that I first posted in 1996 (that I could see). Bob announced CCC on October 10, 1997 in RGCC followed by Steven Schwarz a week later.

I saw posts of mine in CCC from October 1997, so that's that.
