GSEI (the Italian group for chess and informatics) is proud to announce that the annual tournament will be hold in Como (CO) on 26th and 27th of September.
Both Italian and foreign programs may take part.
The tournament is a seven round Swiss with a time control of 30 minutes and 10 seconds increment, you have to use your own hardware.

And don't forget that Como is near to Milano, so you can easily go to Expo 2015, where you can see anything about food, from almost any country in the world. Of course Italy is not only pizza and mandolino but any kind of food and beauty... and chess engines too!

There were no special rules, related to draw. Our softwares cover a large range between 1400 and >2900 of "G6ELO rating", so there were just a few games that could lead to a draw, without surprises. We should reflect even on the fact that in Italy we have only original softwares, anyone with a lot of difference against any other:
- one software in VB, with only 3 ply but an incredibile hand-crafted knowledge
- one software in ADA!
- one with no quiescence no null-move and no almost anything else (and only HELL knows why it works)
The most the softwares are original and the less draw you'll get, IMHO.
PS: looking at the games you'll find one with 3 knights!!!

Chess programmers are so poor they can only afford a trip to a local supermarket.

Of course you should keep attention when you're in a big city (Milano, Roma, Napoli...), as in almost any country in the world. Despite from that, international tournaments are always expensive and chess doesn't give money price that can help (for programmers or chess players too).
Our sponsors will give an important financial help, this year, providing the playing room, an hotel convention, beauty chessboards and clocks and the dinner on the lake of Como. Some year we have provided the hotel rooms too.
No, if you want to get rich then you don't have to only play chess.
