SF6 has been released

Post by zamar »

SF6 has been released. Key features:

* Support for syzygy tablebases
* ELO improvement, around +50 ELO in self-play against SF5

It will likely take a few days to prepare the official binaries. Meanwhile you can either download a version compiled by abrok.eu or compile it yourself:
* http://abrok.eu/stockfish/
* https://github.com/official-stockfish/Stockfish

Yes, functionally "SF6 RC3" = "SF6". No changes were made after release of "SF6 RC3"

Congratulations! I think it is an important achievement. I believe in the idea of cooperation for the sake of advancing science without concern for monetary gain. It is, IMHO a high expression of the best of what we aspire to.

Thank you so much for your hard work! I love chess and computer chess holds an unending fascination for me. So you have made this old guy happier today. :D

I wish continued success for the whole Stockfish team. Also, kudos to all the testers who freely contributed their time and resources to the project.

Very nice!

Hmmm...not too sure if that's a good thing.
RC3 was giving wildly varying evaluations for some positions, even more so than what is normal for Stockfish !

Just to mention a downside: It is leaving some kind of desert or burned ground. Nearly no comercial engines anymore, nothing to choose from ...

Just my 2 cents

Nonetheless, thanks for that new and again very strong version!
