What processor is o the phone? Did Komodo use all of the phones cores?

He used an LG Optimus G Pro which has a 1.7ghz quad-core processor - the Snapdragon 600.

Komodo 8 is using all four cores.

Stockfish 5 is also much stronger on Android (from my testing), so if he'd used SF, I think it could have been a whitewash.

Correct, it was using all four cores. You can set it to single, 2, 3 or 4 in the settings.

In my start position speed testing, it took 580 seconds on Android (in both runs) and 14 seconds or 7 on the i7.
