My 4 cents. It's a not interesting thing for the majority of girls (programming) added to another not interesting thing to them (lone programming). So statistically it’s very unlike to find girls here.

The video game industry did research about a decade ago. Research shows that most females are attracted to very social activities. For some reason Chess, programming and Chess programming don't have reputations as being very social.

Try Facebook, there are many girls with 2,000+ friends. More than the whole CCC.

There was in the past. If my memory serves, Chessfun, was Sarah Bird, and she was very active on the old forum.

I remember her now that you mentioned it. She is mentioned here in CB news: http://bit.ly/1mbRBRA

Here is her old site, now active anymore.

She was 27 years old with a child over ten years ago. She stopped abruptly with no warning. Does chessbase know what happened? She just went off the grid, without warning.

I couldn't locate her in Barrie On Canada, under the name Sarah Bird.

My whole life turned ugly in less than a year recently so in 10 years anything can happen especially if you have a child/husband to rear.

I am not sure that there are no women.
I have no way to detect the gender of people in this club and it is clearly possible that people write without using their real name.
