Internet sometimes is a strange place. There is someone that is complaining he cannot reach my on-line source-code repository, although he has been trying to download something from it for days now (he wrote a script especially for it to continue trying automatically). He cannot see any of my web pages. In the mean time I am accessing that server sozens of times per day, with instant response.

And now I was suddenly kicked off the 81dojo.com Shogi server. No way to connect to it; for the past hour the browser just displays the 'busy loading' symbol forever, for any page there I try to access. Other people let me know that it is up and running, and that they are using it at the moment. All my other internet functions from this machine seem to work normal (like posting here...).

I'm afraid this happens a lot with many sites.

Many site providers are running anti-spam IP filters using services like projecthoneypot.org

For example, from Mexico I cannot access most of Danish domains like colecovision.dk and almost everything ending with dk

Other sites in the Netherlands like www.msx.org are only accessible from a small handful of IP addresses, so I've to replug my modem until I get an IP that allows access.

My own site www.nanochess.org is unaccessible in various zones along the world because my Internet provider runs an IP antispam blocker directly over the DNS. The silliest thing is that when you ask the provider to disable it, they understand a nothing of what you're saying.

I'm wondering why they are using IP blocking so widely, given that many of these addresses are simply common ISP users which have virus-ridden computers.
All good things are difficult to achieve.

Both you and HG are right.

My computer won't allow me to access the Djinn site, so I always have to get my brother to download the latest version releases and email them to me.

I can access your nano chess site.
Macbook Pro (mid 2009), Mac OS X Mavericks and Safari browser.

I have many computers at home with different configurations (Win XP / Win 7 / Win 8 / Linux Mint / Linux Manjaro / Linux Crunchbang ) and also 1 Android tablet, and my Note 3.

I'll try to reach Arena's site with those computers too.

Maybe I should use Thor project and browse anonymously ?

Maybe it is blocking IPs from Brazil ?

Well, that seems to be an "internet declaration of war" !
