Hi,

I would like to join the match at both HGMs server and in Leiden.
The nick at HGM's server will be "PuppetMaster".
Hopefully I'll be able to send a similarity-test report by then. There's still some work to do altough I made great steps last couple of days.

For the on-line event, note that I have migrated my ICS to the domain winboard.nl. This is not merely an alias for my old IP address, but a VPS in a data center, which hopefully will have more reliable connection than my ISP.

No ICS will be available anymore on the old IP address. The machine I was runing it on (an ASUS EEE laptop) no longer wants to boot, and starts to make a sound like a tortured cat in the attempt. So I have only little hope it will be possible to rescue any account information from there, to transplant it to the new ICS. The new command to connect will thus be:

winboard -ics -icshost winboard.nl -zp -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

(possibly augmented with -fUCI).

Do you have simple example code how to create a Winboard interface.
So I can convert it into C# code and add my own engine code.

I use C#.NET (actually asp.net mvc) so maybe i could split my current chess program and extract an engine if it is not too difficult.

[Actually the reason why I started a chess program was to learn ASP.NET ( MVC)]

Ok seems that I have to create a console application.

Can I use this too. Or is it out of date.

That is very much older, and i don't think it contains anything that was not in the WB-forum thread. But I don't think there was anything there that was wrong, so you can still use it.

Ok. Fools only. I did not see the scroll bar. So I thought something was missing for I only saw four lines of code.

So if I have created a console application that can understand winboard protocol what do I need to test it ?

WinBoard, I suppose. (Or XBoard, when you run on Linux.) And opponents. (But WinBoard comes with Fairy-Max and optionally Fruit and Pulsar, and on Linux there are many packages with engines of various strength, amongst which fairymax.)
