How to tell at distance bnetween Citrines

Post by fern »

I undersrtand that at least two baths of Citrine comps has been produced, the last lot better than the first. But, if you want to purchase, no matter where, how do you know which is which? What must be asked to the seller to look at?

Fernando,

If you know the dates of the two manufacturing lots you might be able to differentiate
them by that. One thing I'd recommend, if you decide to make the purchase is to buy
the better chess pieces. They're made by a 3rd party company and they are much
better than the pieces that come with it by default, which are rubbish.

If you shop around you might be able to find a better price.

Thank you. Problem is I am not side by side to comps to see those dates. I suppose I must trust, If i purchase, the seller.

There are a couple of comments that say earlier and buggy models had the "Universal Chess Board" label on them.

The Novag Universal Chess Board could be connected to the Novag Super VIP handheld which would then provide move selection and receive move input.

I have what I think is a latter day Citrine and I can answer any questions about its appearance.
