Hi guys,
lately i asked Marty what's if there is any Progress with Mchess UCI....here the Response:
Hi Andi,
I still think it will happen. I remain involved with a number of other projects but it will settle down sooner or later, and then I will do this.
Best Regards,
Marty

Hi Marty,
another year has gone, some people asked me a few weeks ago if marty has given it up with Mchess UCI.
Could we still hope to see a comeback of Mchess as a UCI engine?
Best Regards
Andi

Google does not throw up any details about Mchess. Can you throw some light on it and if its free, maybe a link to d/l?
TIA

Re: what about Mchess UCI?
Appreciate you contacting Marty for us Andreas. I think now more than ever is a perfect time to introduce a multi-core MChess UCI engine in it's original human fighting style as compared to the universal style of the engines we have now.

Strength is a mute point now. Style and features. I know for a fact of some GM's on ICC that don't like playing Chess Tiger 2007 because it just has their number. Now that's another program I would like to see updated with it's style and SMP capable as well. Chess System Tal & WChess come to mind too.

Re: what about Mchess UCI?
Hi Andreas,
thanks for asking again.
I have tried this too during the last years and always got similar answers - but no MChess UCI.
I even asked him to give an unprotected Version free (e.g. for Eds site). Here is the answer:
". Unfortunately, due to changes in technology I cannot create a non-protected version of MChess (or a protected version of MChess) at this time. I have put some time into re-writing the program for modern compilers but there is more to be done. "
So I think we will have to wait till Marty retires from work and has more time for this Project

Hi Werner,
It's good to know Marty may well resurrect MChess.
However, I would point out you've published his email address on a public website. Was that intentional? Did he give you permission to do so? I certainly wouldn't want my email address on an open post? I'd suggest deleting the post.

He's had that one for at least 17 years that I know of and it is public knowledge but I see the point about posting it on public forum.mclane wrote:The Email is the Old Email Adress Mchess always used to have.
