Deepsjeng CT

Post by Robert Flesher »

So I purchased DeepSjeng CT by ordering the single issue of CT magazine. What came as a real shocker was 13.46 EUR + 53.00 for the international wire transfer to Germany. Not that this was alot of money, but I would have liked to have seen all that money in GCP's pockets instead of the greedy bank. Oh well! It's a great new engine to my collection, to bad it is not MP (GCP ,want some more money?)

Also what is the license for Deep Sjeng CT?

I can only agree with you.

If GCP releases this as SMP in a downloadable UCI format ill buy at once.
To get the magazine was a bit of hassle tbh. :D

Best,

Just curious, where was this from? I presume the US?

Bank fee is big. At least you got a full Shredder Classic too for that price.

I don't remember including one. Basic copyright should apply.

The fee was from Canada to Germany.
As for the license can Sjeng CT be on multiple computers or is it one install per customer?

I have Deep Shredder 12 so I never gave Shredder classic a second look.

I'm fine with either on multiple computers used by 1 person, or 1 computer used by multiple persons.

Any chance DSjeng might go the hardware route? Would be great to get a hardware DS using latest cluster code.

I don't think doing hardware is a good idea (development time vs expected performance gain looks like a horrible tradeoff). Certainly not for a single person.

Hardware's main advantage would be that you can't copy it. But I don't have to live of chess (I'm not a professional - to bring up an old debate), so this doesn't warrant the time investment right now.

So any chance you want to release a new SMP version? I'd love to see a new Deep Sjeng as would many others. It's to bad the newer versions did not allow editing of personalities. Redshift was an amazing attacker, it would be nice to see something like this again.
