Hi Martin

Is it not a little bit unfair to use single core engines VS 4 core engines ?

I think that single core Houdini can beat 4 core Hannibal if it was available,

not the other way around...

The world isn't fair, Damir. ;)

Do you ask that same question when Rybka cluster participates in an "official" event with 128 processor cores?

The thing is - watching the same engines over and over again can get a bit boring when the rate of play is so slow - that's why I want to include other engines from people I respect. Since, in this particular case, Hannibal doesn't support more than one core then one core it is.

Hiarcs doesn't come in a 64-bit version - is that fair or unfair?

Since TCEC is about the games and not the ratings - just enjoy it for what it is.

Best Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin

I enjoyed the first game, not sure what Rybka was up to with the queen manoeuvre in the middle game though. Good result in the end. I felt that Stockfish showed the better understanding of the game overall.

This match is now finished.

Rybka 4 beat Stockfish 1.9 by 18 to 14.
Check out game 32 - it's a very nice win by Stockfish.

You can find it in the archive page.

The next tournament/match will start later this week - keep an eye on the news page for updated information.

PS: The hardware used in TCEC will be upgraded before the next event as well!

Is this result by SF, the best result vs Rybka 4 so far, TCEC?

I'm away, so i cannot see it 24 hours like when at home. But I like S Fishes results towards the end!
