Maybe Stockfish is realy the best in endgames. :D
Using 4 cores Houdini 1.02 finds Kd6 at depth 31 in about 2 minutes:

Stockfish is indeed very good in endgames that require deep analysis, because of its aggressive pruning it goes deeper than most other engines.

Robert
It is not correct solution. Houdini has a problem with 6th white move (pawn endgames).
[d] 8/p7/P7/1k6/8/5K2/5P2/8 w - -
Correct is 6.Kg4 (!) instead of 6.Ke4 (??) which leads to draw.

1.Kd6!
Which engine is able to find this solution faster than others? :D
With TBs Gaviota sees Kd6 in 0.2 seconds

Code: Select all

setboard 8/p2K4/P5B1/8/3n4/2k2p2/2P2P2/8 w - -

Of course, the line shown is not Houdini's final analysis - as you can see from the ++ in the score we're still in a fail high condition, or in other words, the PV shown is meaningless.
To get the full main line longer analysis is needed.
