It is not really a waste of tempo because it is in response to Bc2. Bf4 would not have worked before. Anyway, it is a moot point now. Let's hope the machine plays Kh1

A sacrificial move like ...Rf3 or even ...Bf3 (at the right moment and with the right preparation) is possibly a gift that the R30 could not easily refuse...
