My vote is for a move by black......

Post by Christopher Conkie »

[d]rnbqkbnr/p1pppppp/8/8/4P3/8/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKBNR b KQkq - 0 1

In this position I would vote for Bb7.

Provided it is black to move of course. ;-)

Attack regards

In this position I would consider c5 or Bb7. To be honest however, I think Bb7 is safer and involves less risk at the moment.

My vote would be for 1. ... Bb7

...e6 or ... Bb7. Same plan. Just a difference in move sequence, that's all.

However, you gain a tempo by playing Bb7. Opponent has to react to your threat else he will lose a pawn. With e6, he'd just develop his pieces and castle as quick as possible. Bb7 kinda delays his quick castling.

So, logical vote has to be for Bb7.

I think Bb7 can be part of other plans also.

Bb7 is best. It develops a piece and seizes the initiative.

Agree to that, but possible Bb7 is better.
