Information on engines with learning capabilities

Post by Martin Thoresen »

Hello,

I am currently testing a few random engines, particularly with learning capabilities, like for instance RomiChess.

Does anyone know of any other engines with learning? And preferably own books.

Should be 2000+ ELO "from scratch".

Thank you!

ProDeo, HIARCS, Shredder and Spike come to mind.

Thanks! I am already using Spike.

I'm gonna check out Pro Deo again, sooooo many files in that folder and I really don't know where to begin in order to make it "from scratch". Must be some of all these files that Pro Deo doesn't need...

And by the way, I was thinking of free engines. :)

ArasanX
Aristarch
Comet
Crafty
DanChess
Deep Frenzee
Deep Pharaon
EXChess
Francesca M.A.D

Enough,no :!: :?:
I can continue till the end of the list....

Oh yes, ProDeo can be a hassle, I think you'd need to create an empty EOC tree (I don't know how to do that) and try using it (I don't know if it would work.)

You could also try using ProDeo's obsolete learning mechanisms, they are much worse than the new ones but come from scratch and are easy to use.

Dr. Wael Deeb,

Thank you very much!

Please go on, can't get enough engines to test. :)

More CB-native engines which have position learning are:

Nimzo 8 (most probably 7.32, too), and Goliath Light 1.5.

Thanks Miguel, downloaded!

Does anyone have the opening book for Little Goliath Evolution 3.12? Downloading the book from the official site has been removed.
