Nobody wants to pay taxes, but at the same time we want top quality services. Not that I can see any solution, but it's always a two edged sword.

What percentage of a purchase do Europeans pay in VAT? Suppose Mark was originally from Georgia and I was buying Hiarcs from him, I have no option but to pay 6-8% tax depending on where his company is located. On the other hand if he was from another state in U.S, I wouldnt have to pay any tax.

Sorry I was wrong: the link in the email was not fully clickable so I thought the discount is only 10 euros. Actually the correct upgrade price for MP version is 71,34 Euro.

This statement is really stupid.

Only a government that has enough money for teachers, police, hospitals, social work, culture, save water and lots more of this things is a good government. :!:

Everybody has to defend his government for this stupid thinking

Of course taxes are necessary. My point was that it's not the fault of the engine author that some customers need to pay extra, but then I think most readers would realise that was what I was getting at.

Of course Graham :)
Living in the country in the world with highest taxes, I don't complain.
Nor do I blame the authors of programs - I could sometimes wish for more flexiabillity towards minority items, like our chessprograms - would help the chessprogrammers, who doesn't has a large market. The huge taxes may help decrease this market even more.
But, it's probably selfish thinking...?;)
