Glaurung for the iPod/iPhone

I also downloaded a copy of the development kit. I note that the word "beta" is displayed next to the "3.1" version identification.

First, wasn't there some hint that Apple would waive some, most, or all fees for well implemented *free* software products for the iPod touch and iPhone ?

Second, I read earlier today of a jailbreak for the latest iPhone/iPod touch. Now long will this last in the current DRM war? Can it be used to evade Apple sanctions with respect to devkit users?
