Which engines find the winning Qe1! ?

Post by George Tsavdaris »

Which engines find the winning Qe1! in the Rybka-Zappa 4th game?

I tried many engines for about 20 minutes each.
I have the "old series" of engines(Hiarcs 8, Deep Fritz 8, Gambit Tiger 2, Junior 8, Shredder10, Rybka 1.2 etc) but none of them i tried solved it. I did not try all engines but i'm still trying....

Only the old Glaurung 1.2.1 surprisingly solves it very very fast(about 10 seconds)!

But what about the new monsters like Rybka 2.x, Hiarcs 11, Fritz 10, Junior 10, Naum 2, etc series ?
Is Zappa Mexico the only one along with Glaurung that finds it?

Yes nice, but meanwhile i discovered that the old nice Comet B68 finds it too super fast, loses it for a while, only to find it again after 3 minutes with a good score. Considering the about 1:18 hardware+64bit version, time disadvantage i have over the machine Zappa used in Mexico, i find the performance of Comet extremely good!

Also Chessmaster 9000 R1 is very good at this. Finds it immediately and gives a high score....

At depth 7 in 7.14s she find the good move. This is an interesting position
if some strong programmes do not solve it. :)

Even after 20 minutes sjeng 2.7 does not find Qe1, it stays on gxh5 throughout.
