Are Ruffian and Gandalf private and not commercial

I thought that these programs are commercial programs and I even remember that I read some months ago that it is possible to buy ruffian for few dollars but when I looked at the site I saw the following:

Yep, and Deep Gandalf 7 is coming, but only when the author is satisfied with it. G6 took 3 years to produce and was released in 2004. So patience... Great program. Still a favourite of mine, next to Tiger.
