The code that was passed on to me plays the same as the released binary. It is original work and not a clone. If you have questions about the code or how it works I ask that you direct them to author as it is his work.

Well, I am very happy. I wait that in the future we let us not accuse other people without proves.Bryan Hofmann wrote:The code that was passed on to me plays the same as the released binary. Re: My review of Strelka Code
Well, that settles it then.
Strelka is not a clone.
I guess that IdaPro 5.1 lost its place and listed a huge block of code as data. The excellence of play would explain why Rybka and Strelka often have the same analysis.
The identical bug(s) found in both programs could be explained in two ways:
1. The Strelka author may have made exactly the same mistake(s).
2. The Strelka author may have used Rybka as a test opponent and simply mimicked the Rybka behavior.
In any case, I am one who definitely added fuel to the fire and hence I sincerely apologize to Yuri Osipova.

Accuse? No! Question? Yes!
There is nothing wrong with casting a jaundiced eye at a suddenly released, strong opponent. It didn't take much for the author of Strelka to establish that his program is unique, and he, and his program, are now welcomed into the fraternity, rather than being under a cloud of suspicion.

This are very good news. From my point of view this ends the dispute now. I was also distrustful and have to admit that I was totally wrong. If he reads it I hope the author accepts my apologies.Bryan Hofmann wrote:The code that was passed on to me plays the same as the released binary. It is original work and not a clone. ...
