After I synced with time.apple.com from my Windows machine "string time" went from around 200 to 45000. Possible coincidence but worth a try.

Will try that. I'm now getting 100% usage on all 6 cores and 45000 string time on the Linux boot, without doing anything.

You can try:

QueenBee -n 1 -L 5000 -l 4000
QueenBee -n 1 -L 5001 -l 4001
QueenBee -n 1 -L 5002 -l 4002
...

I've heard that this works.

Folkert, can you give us some information when the engine is calculating ? Because I have started QueenBee, but it seems to do nothing except some "keep-alive" and latency-measurements... CPU usage close to 0%...

okay, now it has started to do something here and there... since it doesn't completely block the computer I just let it run, if it helps you a bit, this would be fine...

The matches can be followed at csvn.nl/live-tournament-cloud and the scheme is at http://csvn.nl/nieuws-mainmenu-28/51-to ... ivity-2014 but please note that we have a one hour shift due to heavy traffic jam.

Anyway, I like this 'Cloud'-Approach... that it hasn't been done with too much success so far doesn't mean that it can't be done.

Maybe it is playing suicide chess. :D

Seriously, maybe some kind of preprocessing is necessary to find the 10 or so most promising moves for a shootout.
