This has been tried and discussed before, and it has a serious problem: for example if we have one version going d20 0.05, one going d18 0.3 and one going d21 -0.5 with some or all having different best moves which move do you choose? Do you just choose democratically and hope it is not a tactical blunder? Do you choose the one with the most depth? Then why even have versions which do not search as deep. etc. etc.
Functional programming combines the flexibility and power of abstract mathematics with the intuitive clarity of abstract mathematics.
