Hello Andrés.

Thank you very much for trying my engine.
No, you don't have to wait too much.
I'm uploading Godel for Windows 32 and it will be released in ten minutes.

It works in Winboard and Scid.

Godel source code is not available at the moment, but probably will be released within a few years. Godel has a lot of bugs and it's play is not too strong, it has at least 2500 ELO points in a decent hardware. It's therefore far from the best chess engines. For this reason, any help in testing will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Juan Manuel Vázquez,

2500 Elo is not too strong?

This is what is killing me these days. A 2500 program is now described as not too strong and is not an engine released by Tord, when it would be described by him as pathetic.

:-)

Thanks for the engine Juan.

Later.

Hello Roger.

Good morning from Spain.
There are plenty of engines far away from Godel. This is the reason why I say that is not too strong.
The rating of Godel was calculated at home and it could be completely wrong.
It's a risk to say that it has at least 2500 Elo points. So, i need help to confirm this.
I will send to Godel to CCRL, CGET and wbec ridderkerk soon but, first i must test Godel.

Thank you
Sorry for my English.

Congratulations on your engine. I'm anxious to try it out but it keeps crashing upon start.

I'm using the 32bit linux version, with your Big Book. I get this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
./Godel
# Godel 2.0.5 under Xboard/Winboard.
# Copyright (C) Juan Manuel Vázquez (Spain)

# Hash = 128
# Pawn hash = 16
# Resign = 1
# Resign score = 600
# Resign moves = 3
# Ponder = 1
Error opening file !

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I try it without a book I get the same but this:

# The file book.dat cannot be opened.
# Creating the file ...
Error opening file !

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guessing it's a bad book? Maybe a bug in the book parser?

Just an fyi,
-Josh

Edit: I tried the 64bit version on my 64bit machine and same results.
