On-line blitz tourney August

Post by hgm »

The monthly engine blitz tourney will be

Saturday August 20, 3pm EST (21:00 CET)

To connect, use

winboard -zp -ics -icshost 80.100.28.169 -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

with a possible extra -fUCI for UCI engines. Be sure to be in time to join the tourney (connecting 15 min in advance would be good practice; you can then also make sure everything works by playing some test games against the assembling crowd).

Hi Harm Geert,

Do you know that your ICS seems to be down the last week or so?
At least for me it's not working.

Ah, thanks. It should be fixed now. The router had again changed the LAN IP address of the server laptop...

I guess I should learn how to configure it for using fixed IP numbers.

This should be very easy, it's just telling the DHCP server in your router that you want to give the server with MAC adress xxx IP adress yyy.
All routers I know of support this.

You can also give your server a fixed IP adress directly and make sure that this IP adress is outside the range of the DCHP server in the router.

Also make sure that port 5000 (I guess) is properly forwarded to your server.

Good game by Thinker beating Rybka I've seen Rybka get beat by Houdini similarly with a queen against rooks!

It looks more like Rybka threw away a drawish game by doing 40...R1d4.
