Thank you very much for your efforts! My focus for 0.9 was cleaning up the code, which gave some speedups and a couple of bug fixes, but not much of a strength increase. The next release will hopefully be quite a bit stronger as I've finally gotten to tuning the evaluation parameters :)

Hi Terje,

I could not find a contact to you that's why I write here.

I have lots of time forfeits with 0.9. Weiss loses on time in approximately every 8 games. There was nothing wrong with 0.8. I read you'd modified time management but something must have gone wrong. I don't know if Graham encountered the same problem.
This is 2 minutes + 1 second increment time control. Unfortunately no logs.

Regards,
Gabor

That's odd. I get some time losses playing with extremely low TCs (5s+0.05s or such), but have not seen one on such a long time control game I think. I will be revisiting time management to see if I can improve it.

Do you have the games in which it happened?

Either way, thanks for the report.

I assume the problem is related to TBs as without TBs Weiss plays much faster time controls without timing out. I've doubled the frequency with which Weiss checks the time situation. Hopefully this is enough solve the problem.

Thank you, Terje. I assume the fix will be present only in the next version. BTW, I keep TB's on an SSD.

Yes, it's available in current dev version and will be in the next release, along with a lot of elo :)

What size TBs did you use, 5- or 6-men?
